Schäflein celebrates its 80th anniversary with a big staff and family party in Grettstadt

Röthlein/Grettstadt – 80 years of growth and no end in sight. That was the tenor of the big Schäflein anniversary celebration last weekend. The company had invited friends and employees with their families to celebrate the company’s birthday in style. 1,500 people gathered at the festival site in Grettstadt on Saturday, 3 August 2019 to toast the success of the transport and logistics company. There have been plenty of reasons to celebrate in the past and this is how it should remain in the future. There seems to be no limit to Schäflein’s growth. Founded in 1939 by Alfons Ludwig Schäflein, the transport company started out with three tractor units. Today, more than 1,650 employees work at 25 locations in Germany, Austria and Poland for the logistics service provider, which continues to grow steadily. This year alone, three new locations are being built or have recently gone live: in Leipzig, Berlin and at the Röthlein headquarters. A new European distribution centre is being built here, which will increase the company’s total logistics space by 25,000 m² to 300,000 m². CEO Achim Schäflein proudly reported to the guests on the current projects and is convinced that the number of employees will steadily increase, if not double, in the coming years. As in the past, he would like to thank his employees: “We couldn’t have done it without you!”
