Start to working life: 30 apprentices begin their training at Schäflein

At the start of the 2018 training year, 30 apprentices began their training at Schäflein in Röthlein. Thus Schäflein was also able to fill the planned training positions in the professions warehouse logistics, forwarding and drivers.

“Schäflein invests in youth and thus also in the future. Well-trained people are the be all and end all for our company, and also for our region. We’d like to make our contribution to this and are pleased also to have enabled another 30 apprentices to make a good start to working life,” said Corinna Werner, Head of Staff Development. “As a growing logistics service provider in Mainfranken, we offer future-proof training positions at a financially successful company and in an exciting sector. We take our claim to be a provider of opportunities seriously and primarily pay attention to the personality of our apprentices,” emphasised Corinna Werner.

About 500 apprentices in the last 20 years

Training at Schäflein has a tradition going back many decades. In the past 20 years alone more than 500 young people have gone through training in the company. With a training rate of 7 per cent, Schäflein is well above the nationwide training rate of 4.8 per cent. By beginning their training at Schäflein, the apprentices lay the foundations for their careers in logistics. About 70 per cent of an intake move into permanent employment on completing their training. Another 15 per cent decide on further education or higher education.

6 different training professions

Schäflein offers 6 different training professions in total. These include specialist in office management and in forwarding/logistics service, warehouse specialist and warehouse logistics specialist, as well as professional drivers. Schäflein also trains IT specialists. There are special training courses for those with the German higher education matriculation certificate at Schäflein, with a dual course of studies to become a Bachelor of Engineering.
